SCARS

LEARN ABOUT OUR EXPERTISE

ON SCARS

Scars are the result of your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Scars occur when the dermis, the second deepest layer of the skin, is damaged by injury, surgery, picking a scab, etc. When the skin is injured, it goes into immediate healing mode and starts trying to close up as quickly as possible. First a blood clot forms a scab and then the dermis gets to work below sending out fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen) to start rebuilding tissue. Because your skin is in a hurry to repair itself to replenish tissue, the collagen may not get laid out in the same pattern as the rest of your skin, so this hasty approach results in a scar. How severe or obvious a scar ends up looking can be determined by many factors like age, skin tone, location of injury, and hormones. Majority of scars are treatable with a variety of options that are offered at SouthPointe Medical & Aesthetics.

SCAR TREATMENT OPTIONS

ProFractional XC

ProFractional uses a precise pinpoint laser beam to deeply treat tiny areas of skin in fractions. As collagen increases, the skin gains better support and naturally becomes tighter.

Fractora

Fractora is a radio frequency device that helps reverse the visible signs of aging. This advanced technology improves skin tone and texture, and it produces radiant skin through localized heat.

Laser Peel

Laser Peel is an ablative resurfacing laser that removes the upper layers of the skin to reveal newer, more youthful cells. Simultaneously promoting collagen production to heal skin smoother and more even.

MicroNeedling

Microthin needles that penetrate the skin to create microscopic channels to immediately activate production of healing, collagen, and elastin. Paired with your own growth factors applied topically to enhance the healing process.

Halo

Halo combines two laser wavelengths to eliminate spots and skin imperfections. Halo treatments work by focusing energy on both the deeper and superficial layers of the skin.
